About Bowen Therapy
Bowen Therapy, also known as Bowen Technique or Bowenwork, is a holistic approach to healing that involves gentle, non-invasive manipulation of muscles, tendons, and soft tissue. Developed by Australian osteopath Tom Bowen in the 1950s, it aims to stimulate the body’s innate ability to rebalance, repair, and heal itself.
During a Bowen Therapy session, the practitioner uses their fingers and thumbs to make precise, rolling movements over specific points on the body, often in sequences that address particular areas of concern. These movements stimulate the body’s proprioceptors, which are sensory receptors in the muscles, tendons, and joints. This stimulation sends signals to the brain, triggering a relaxation response and promoting healing at a deep level.
Some potential benefits of Bowen Therapy include:
- Pain relief: Bowen Therapy can help alleviate various types of pain, including back pain, neck pain, sciatica, joint pain, frozen shoulder, headaches and migraines, jaw problems and muscular pain.
- Improved mobility and flexibility: By releasing tension and restoring balance to the body, Bowen Therapy can enhance flexibility and range of motion.
- Stress reduction: The gentle, calming nature of Bowen Therapy promotes relaxation, improve quality of sleep and can help reduce stress and anxiety.
- Faster recovery from injuries: Bowen Therapy can accelerate the body’s natural healing processes, aiding in the recovery from injuries and surgeries.
- Better posture and alignment: By addressing muscular imbalances and promoting proper alignment, Bowen Therapy can help improve posture and overall body alignment.
- Enhanced overall well-being: Many people report feeling a sense of overall well-being and improved energy levels after receiving Bowen Therapy.
Bowen Therapy is considered safe for people of all ages, from infants to the elderly, and also during pregnancy. It can be used as a standalone treatment or in conjunction with other therapeutic modalities.

About Kinesiology
Systematic kinesiology is a holistic approach to health and wellness that integrates principles from various disciplines such as anatomy, physiology, nutrition, and traditional Chinese medicine. It utilises muscle testing as a primary diagnostic tool to identify imbalances in the body’s energy systems. Through gentle muscle testing techniques, practitioners aim to identify areas of stress or weakness within the body.
Once imbalances are identified, a variety of techniques can be used to help restore balance and promote healing. These may include nutritional guidance, lifestyle recommendations, specific exercises, manual therapies, and stress reduction techniques. The goal is to address the root causes of imbalances rather than simply treating symptoms.
The benefits of systematic kinesiology can include improved physical health, increased energy levels, reduced pain and discomfort, better mental clarity, and enhanced overall well-being. By addressing imbalances at a holistic level, systematic kinesiology seeks to support the body’s natural ability to heal itself and maintain optimal health. It can be used as a standalone therapy or in conjunction with other healthcare modalities to support a comprehensive approach to wellness.

About Scar Tissue Therapy
A gentle technique applied directly to scarring that has been caused by surgical intervention. This technique can work on all surgical scars even those that are decades old. A very effective treatment for:
- Caesarian section scars
- Hysterectomy scars
- Head wound scars
- Trauma scars
- Mastectomy scars
- Amputation scars
- Surgery scars
- Appendix scars
- Underlying scar tissue
Releasing the scar tissue can help resolve symptoms associated with scar tissue such as: numbness; pain; feeling of disconnection between lower and upper body (especially with C-section scars); hypersensitivity; burning; itching; nausea and the physical appearance of the scar.
Often a significant difference is felt after just one session. The scar must be at least 6 to 8 weeks old and must be completely healed before it can be worked on.
This work is done directly on to the scar itself, and not through clothing.
